In the heart of California in a city of relaxation & calmness, where it's beaches serve as glamorous tourist sites & most importantly, the residents are usually rendered as simply - safe given the city's nature. The renowned safety is soon to be diminished as the unexpected occurs in the form of a robbery at one of the city's most prestigious & resourceful banks with a group of innocent people, who are overwhelmed with susceptibility & evident fright, turn into subdued victims as they are held hostage by two of the most wanted thieves, well-known in other parts of California like Compton although now seen as ruthless anomalies. As the opportunities arise, the victims desperately make their potentially life-depending escapes with the help of one victim, who audaciously stands out from the crowd of fear & engages in a lengthy close combat with the thieves, ultimately coming out on top & saving the lives of others.
The primary reason as to why the decision was made to go with this storyline is due to the fact that there was the feeling that the codes & conventions were more relevant to our selected film genre, the latter being action & the codes & conventions included in the storyline are the description of the villains in the form of the thieves, the contrast of enemies in the hero, who is the outstanding victim of them all, other codes & conventions include weapons wielded by the thieves, who have an objective (hit, take & run), the description of the setting: 'a city of relaxation & calmness' & 'heart of California' which all illustrate how insecure it was for the city & it's residents to witness a scenario like a bank robbery take place & finally the high intensity of the scenario. Other reasons of why this storyline was more ideal than the others was that there was the element of flexibility & creativity as well as opportunities to explore the many broad features & ideas that originate from the action genre. Putting it into perspective, the storyline appeals to the target audience more is because of the implementations of their likely interests, which according to the information for the target audience, include filling in voids & emptiness in their lives, the search for adrenaline & exhilaration, comprehension of crime life & the others mentioned, it possibly appeals to their occupation or profession as well as personality that may consist of determination, audacity, tenacity & being vocal.
